Helpers

Steven was out of town for the week...Here are some pictures of all the people that came to help me while he was gone.

Nonnie stayed Monday night with us. Thank you, Nonnie!

Auntie Kelly spent the night. She was a big help.

My friend, and neighbor, Terry, came over several times during the week to help us out. She's so wonderful!

Spa day

Sophia has had several spa days with her grandma. How many babies can say they've been massaged by a professional?

Trivia Question-How many pounds did I put on since Birth? See Below for answers!

Sophia went to the doctor last week and in one month has put on almost 3lbs and 2 inches since birth. Her percentiles for all major stats are in the 75-90. For those of you that know me, I like to eat. I think my daughter got her daddy's gene for that. She is eating 4-5 ounces at each feeding. We have been busy as a family going to lunch a few times, dinner once, which did not work because we did it too close to feeding time, so dinner was in a box to go. She dressed up f0r Halloween as a pumpkin, or at least my baby pumpkin. Sophia and mommy had a special moment where Sophia started to really interact with her with smiles and cooing. That moment of course made mommy feel just wonderful.

Happy Time!

Don't Tease me with it, give me it!

Big day...

We had a big day yesterday, Friday the 17th. I let Steven talk me into taking Sophia out for a walk. I haven't wanted her to go anywhere but to the doctor's until she's 4 weeks old, but I was starting to go a little stir crazy since I hadn't left the house in over a week either. Another reason I didn't want to take her outside is because the allergens in this area are always so high. The temperature has been so nice here, so I finally let her go outside. We went for a nice walk around the neighborhood, and she slept the entire time.

The fun didn't stop there...we went to my dad's house too! It was poker night, and as always they had a house full of people. As you all know I'm a germ freak so I let people hold her, but I had the hand sanitizer out squirting it into anyone's hands who wanted to hold her. Everyone keeps saying that I'm going to have a bubble child...I'll try and gear down on the craziness when she gets a little older. She's just too little right now, and too susceptible to germs. The ring tone on my cell right now is a Matchbox Twenty song, Unwell, "I'm not crazy I'm just a little unwell". So true!

The big day out helped us with a successful nights sleep! She went down at 10:30pm, without crying, and didn't start to fuss until 4:15am. Almost 6 hours of sleep!!! It was amazing! Maybe getting out a bit is the key to our sleeping success.

Stay tuned as Steven will post pictures of our big day when he returns from the store today.

Thanks Katie, and Jess, for the constant kind and encouraging words.

Much love to all our family and friends!

I'm alive

Hello everyone, it's me, Chelsea, the girl from the land of the living dead. I've had several people ask where are the pictures of me and Sophia together (Kistina!), and just wanted you all to know that I'll let Steven post some pix when the bags under my eyes are no longer the size of Texas. For those of you who know me, I don't do well on little sleep, and little sleep is what I've been getting. I knew that's what I signed up for when I got pregnant, I just had no idea how difficult it would be. For the first time in my life I'm not napping because I end up feeling more groggy and grouchy, and poor Steven gets the brunt of my grouchiness.

Steven has been a HUGE help! I'm so thankful for a husband who wants to be involved in his child's life. I don't know how single mothers, or mothers w/o supportive husbands manage all this on their own.

I have a lot of emails and phone calls that I need to return, and promise I'll get back to you all someday soon.

I also have thank you cards, and announcements to send out. Hopefully I'll get those out next week. In the meantime, I want to thank everyone for all of your support. Thank you to all of you for the wonderful dinners, gifts for Sophia, cards, phone calls, and good thoughts you have sent our way. It has meant the world to us, and has kept me going through these past 3 weeks.

It's feeding time again, so I must go.

Thank you once again to our sweet friends and family for all of your love and support!

xoxo
